Get Involved with the Clapham NCT
Volunteers, parents and expectant parents just like you, run our branch. You don’t need to take on huge tasks, just commit whatever time you can or your previous experience and skills. It is a great way to learn new skills, make new friends, and represent the NCT. Get in touch and get involved.
We currently have vacancies for:
Magazine Advertising Manager – We desperately need a new magazine advertising manager to fill Special Delivery, our quarterly magazine, with adverts! You will manage existing and cultivate new advertising relationships, co-ordinate with editorial and design teams and prepare an advertising invoice file for the branch treasurer. Time commitment: 1-2 hours per week.
Vice Chair - Are you highly organised, good with people and great at keeping everyone in the loop? How about becoming our new Vice Chair, the focal point of communication within the branch. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient passing of information between branch volunteers, the branch team, neighbouring branches, regional and UK NCT. You will also be responsible, with the chair, for branch and annual general meetings. Time commitment: 1 hour a week, plus attendance at monthly branch meetings.
Fundraising and social event co-ordinators - are you a good organiser and enjoy socialising? Join our team of event organisers and raise money for your favourite charity. Role includes coming up with ideas, planning and managing events. Time commitment: 2 hours per week, flexible.
Postnatal Directory Coordinator – we are looking for a volunteer to update our postnatal directory, last published in Autumn 08. Task includes checking existing content, updating content and coordinating production with designer and printers. Time commitment: This is a completely flexible role, although we would like to get the directory updated by the end of May.
Nearly New Sale Coordinators - enjoy shopping? Join our Nearly New Sales team and help with planning, promoting & running our ever popular sales. Time commitment: 3 sales a year.
Breastfeeding cafe helpers - We are looking for a small team of volunteers to help out at our breastfeeding drop-in. Working with our Breastfeeding Drop-In Co-ordinator and Breastfeeding Counsellors, the role is essentially about meeting & greeting mums attending the drop-in, serving refreshments, taking bookings for the Breastfeeding Counsellor consultations and venue set-up & tidy up. Time commitment: the drop-in takes place every 2nd & 4th Monday. Ideally helpers will be able to commit to one session a month, 2 hours between 10am and 12noon.
Postnatal tea hosts - join our team of volunteer postnatal tea hosts who hold monthly teas for new and second-time mums. The teas are informal get togethers which are invaluable in allowing new mums to meet other mums in their area. Time commitment: 2-4hrs per month and teas can be organised at your convenience. We urgently need tea hosts in Battersea.
Publicity designer - a great opportunity to unleash your creative spirit! We need a person with some design skills to create branch publicity items e.g. posters, flyers. Time commitment: ad hoc as publicity is required.
