This is an intensive NCT antenatal course covering preparation for labour and birth, feeding, and early parenthood.  The sessions will take place at the teacher's home and at a public venue.  It is easily accessible for parents from Balham, Tooting and Streatham Hill. The course is open to all parents expecting a new baby, and is ideal for those expecting their babies in mid April - May.

Full course dates are as follows:

Monday 1st March 10am - 4pm women only held at the teacher's home

Friday 12th March 10am - 1.15pm Breastfeeding session (SW18 2QQ) partners welcome 

Saturday 13th March 10am - 4pm partners welcome

Our classes are designed for couples, but many people attend on their own or with a friend, relative or birth partner.

Subjects covered will usually include:

·         Pregnancy and birth choices

·         Choosing where to have your baby

·         Body awareness, relaxation, breathing and massage

·         Home births and water births

·         What happens in labour and how the baby is born

·         Pain relief - natural and medical methods

·         Your labour and the role of the partner in labour

·         What complications might arise – e.g. Caesarean birth

·         Looking after a newborn and feeding your baby

·         Early parenting, lifestyle changes

Concessions are available for places on this course; please enquire in confidence about these.

This course is for a maximum of 6 couples/women, but the actual number attending will be dependent on the teacher or local demand.

NCT courses are open to all parents and parents-to-be, including young parents, women without a partner, same-sex couples and surrogacy couples. Antenatal course places are for up to two people and women who are not attending with a partner are very welcome to bring someone else along to classes, for example a friend or family member. Additionally, in some areas we offer antenatal courses specifically for women-only and courses for young parents. Some Early Days Groups are also women-only. To find out about local availability of these courses enquire with your booking contact.

Please be aware that demand for NCT courses is high in many areas. If we are oversubscribed we always try to put on extra courses - so do register your interest as early as you can.
