Nearly New Sales

NCT Nearly New Sales are a great way of kitting your family out for less.The NW London NCT sales are held twice a year (Spring and Autumn) at the 02 Centre in Finchley Road. Good quality 'nearly new' clothes and toys are available for newborns to children around 5 years old. There is also a range of maternity clothes, nursery equipment and buggies. 25% of all sale profits go straight to the NCT, so buying or selling at the sale is a great way to support the work of the NCT.

Volunteering

The sale runs from 10am to 12pm, but we need volunteers from 8am to 1pm on the day and also the day and evening before.  Please consider giving up your morning to be part of the next sale: volunteers get first dibs on the sale, so it is well worth doing.  If you would like to help in the run-up to the sale, you could help with booking advertisers, or getting posters distributed, running the cake stall, or with general publicity. It is a great way to meet new people and help out your local community. You don't need to be an NCT member to help.

Please download the poster from this page and put it up where people who might be interested can see it (playgroup, hospital, nursery etc.) or simply give it to someone you know who might want to buy or sell.

Selling

NW London NCT sales are 'rail sales' which means all clothes are hung together by age, toys and books and kit are each in one place which makes it really easy for people to find what they want and as a result more goods get sold. It also means you don't have to stand there all morning flogging your stuff (although you are welcome to stay and help out during the sale!).

Registered sellers bring their stuff labelled with the double tags from your sellers' packs and all clothes on hangers before the sale starts. Any unsold items must be collected immediately after the sale or can be donated to charity. The NCT tallies what you've sold from the tags collected at the tills and take a percentage for the charity. Your earnings are sent by cheque within two weeks of the sale. Full details of the process and a pricing guide are included in the sellers' packs.

You don't need to be an NCT member to sell. To register for a sellers' pack, once registration opens please download and complete the form at the bottom of this page and post with an SAE and £10 deposit cheque Registration closes two weeks before the sale or sooner if the maximum number of sellers is reached.

Buying - Top 5 Tips for NCT Nearly New Sales

1. Arrive early. NCT members get priority entry, so arrive in good time for 10am with your
membership card to get in first.  Even better, volunteer to help on the day to get very first dibs. 

2. If possible, leave babies and children at home.  The sale gets very busy and it is safer and quicker to keep your little ones away.

3. Bring a list.  Write a list before you come so that you know exactly what you want to get.  There is just so much on sale that it can be easy to be a little overwhelmed and miss out on the one thing you actually really needed.

4. Bring a shopping buddy.  If you come with someone else you can cover twice the ground in half the time.  And share the queuing while your shopping buddy gets you a coffee and slice of cake!

5. Bring cash or your chequebook.
