Antenatal education in NW2, facilitated by Sofia Ali an experienced advanced NCT teacher.
Classes are informative, practical, participatory and fun. The classes are for first time mums and their birth partners.
Topics include: choices for birth, getting your baby in a good position for birth, going into labour, natural coping techniques for pain, relaxation techniques, massage and practice contractions, what to expect in hospital, artificial pain relief, induction, caesarean section, skin to skin with your baby, establishing breastfeeding and life with a new baby.
Discussion will take place in small groups providing an opportunity for sharing ideas and support and there will also be ample time to meet other local couples expecting a baby. Up to date evidence based information handouts are available to accompany the classes.
